A comedy for anyone who is a mother or anyone who has one!
You Mutha! is a tour de-force in the tradition of Lily Tomlin or
Whoopi Goldberg, replete with an array of characters both truthful and
fantastic and no one can tell who is real and what is make-believe.
Jennie Fahn is a master of the wind-up. Like a great pitcher, she
slowly revs her characters into a frenzy and ignites each fastball with
a kooky spin that catches the audience off guard. She's at once
political and pop-culture -- with a one-two punch that takes us from
cackle to cry in the blink of an eye. In fact, she deals with
punch lines as delicately as poignant pauses and no one is the wiser.
Frontiers has said of Jennie Fahn that she is a "delightfully droll
comedienne." LA Stage Magazine spotlighted her as "an actress
worth making the trip for."
To top it off, this show is candidly about motherhood in all its glory.
No diaper is left unturned. Fahn uninhibitedly offers up all the
glory (and hairy) details. Her characters are flawed and funny and
fabulous, and you'll have a hard time not seeing at least a little of
yourself (or perhaps of your own mother) in all of them.
If you'd enjoy a heaping helping of maternal hilarity with a dollop of
parenting pathos on the side, then this is just the dish for you.
